Banyan Drive, where most large hotels in Hilo are located, has Banyan trees planted by Babe Ruth, Amelia Earhart, FDR, and Nixon. The drive circles Waiakea peninsula, and offers access to Reed's Bay, Liliuokalani Park & Gardens (see below), and Coconut Island.

can be accessed from the intersection of Hwy 11 and
(near Ken's House of Pancakes), or from
Manomano St. just past the Waialoa Bridge off Hwy 19.
