Park open 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
6:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on weekdays. The Visitor Center is open 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. daily. The park is open year round.

Check in at the kiosk by the lot to get a self guided tour brochure. There is a short audio presentation (push the buttons for sound) on the walkway to the site.

On the south side of Pu`uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park is a beautiful picnic area with lots of sand, palm trees, tide pools and picnic tables.

Turn-off from Hwy 160 to City of Refuge (and Two Step)

DIRECTIONS: From Highway 11 (Belt Road), turn onto Highway 160 at the Honaunau Post Office near. After three and a half miles you will see a turn off (on the Left) for City of Refuge / Pu`uhonua o Honaunau.
